My esteemed colleague, Dominick Maino, O.D., M.Ed., runs a blog called "MainosMemos." In it, he helps both colleagues and lay-people keep abreast of what's new in the world of Optometry, vision research, education, clinical practice, patient perspective, etc. Many thanks to Dr. Maino for compiling a snippet of parent conversations on the impact that vision therapy has had on the lives of their children! In the concluding comments, Dr. Maino points out that testimonials and research are not equivalent. I couldn't agree more! Optometry and allied fields need to continue with research efforts in order to show what we clinicians in behavioral optometry observe every day: That vision therapy changes lives and changes potential!
